Emergency contacts are individuals who should be contacted if you or your dependent are injured, ill or impacted by a crisis. If an emergency contact is assigned to one of your dependents, they will be contacted in an emergency if legal guardians are not available. If an emergency contact is contacted by a school organization, the emergency contact will act as an alternate guardian who will provide temporary care for the dependent until the legal guardians are able to claim their dependent.
A trusted friend or family member over 18 years old can be chosen as an emergency contact.
Legal guardians should be added as household members of your ePACT account and not as an emergency contact for your dependents. Household members of legal age can serve as each other's emergency contacts.
