If this is the case, toggle 'signatures' OFF in your Check In settings, but keep it toggled ON for your Check Out settings, to collect both.

Then, when you check the participant in, simply select "Me- Admin" can add initials and check the participant in. When the child is ready to be checked out, choose the correct contact, follow your usual procedures, and then turn the device over to the contact to complete.
